Food waste is a big problem all over the world—even in Singapore. Despite being big foodies, Singaporeans are big wasters and throw out about $352 million worth of food each year. And why? Because people find their food expired, mouldy, or just think it smells, looks, and tastes bad. They're overly reliant on expiry dates and don't know how to tell if their food's gone bad, unlike our much beloved individuals from the Pioneer Generation a.k.a. our grandparents—and more specifically—our grandmas.
